U23 & JUNIORS SHOWCASE

Epic’s U23/Junior Showcase offers something a bit different for young riders to help them on their professional paths; a course prepared just for them, immersion within a deep elite field, and professional content from Epic’s social team.

MEGA EPIC

MEGA Epic tasks riders with all six of Epic’s legendary stages back-to-back. The format detours from convention, allowing competitors outside support, aid and lodging or camping to enable a full-speed FKT-style campaign.

BRECK EPIC WOMEN'S TOUR

The Short Version

We’re fans. Of cycling, of the soulfulness of big backcountry experiences, and of Breck. There’s nowhere else like it.

The energy in the Breck Epic Women’s Pro field is real — the talent, the sportsmanship, the way those athletes show up for each other and for our community. People notice. Staff and volunteers notice. Kids notice.

And yet, the playing field isn’t exactly level for female athletes. We can’t fix all of that. But we can pull the levers inside the pocket universe of Breck Epic — and we do. The BEWT Ambassador Program is how we put our money (and our platform) where our mouth is.

The goal is simple: elevate the Women’s Pro race to marquee status at Breck Epic, lower the financial barriers to participation, and give the athletes in this program real tools to build their brands and grow their reach.

The program is open to women holding a pro or elite license in MTB, Road, Tri, CX or Gravel. Questions? Want to apply? Reach out directly via our Contact Page.

    U23 & JUNIORS SHOWCASE

    OVERVIEW

The Rec Epic U23 & Juniors Showcase is part of a broader commitment to return something meaningful to cycling — by investing in the next generation of racers. Like the Breck Epic Women’s Tour, this program focuses on areas where we can make a real difference: growing participation for athletes who are pushing the confines of their existing race environments.

The goal is simple — provide young racers with big-race experience on a world-class platform, and do it in a way that’s welcoming, affordable, and genuinely fun. And also? To surround them with supportive, more established pros. Ones who WERE these kids a few short years ago. We believe that in that environment, young athletes witness and absorb behaviors that demonstrate that results are only one facet of professionalism.

A RACE BUILT FOR YOUNGER RIDERS

We created a special 3-day version of the Epic specifically for our junior field. Running on Stages 2 through 4 (August 10–12, 2026), it’s designed to give younger athletes a full, immersive race experience while keeping them away from Stage 1 — which can be chaotic — and sparing them the sometimes-humbling experience of Wheeler Pass.

Junior riders (18 and under) race Stages 2–4.

    U23 riders have two options:

    • Race the 3-day Junior Showcase (Stages 2–4) in the U23 category, or
    • Take on the full 6-day race (August 9–14), folded into the Men’s or Women’s Elite field

    THINGS TO KNOW FOR 2026

    • U23’s may opt for the 6-day race. Please have them register for the 3-day version (to guarantee U23 pricing), then contact us to be moved to either elite field if desired.
    • U23’s participating in the 6-day event are required to attend Day Zero’s rider meeting at the Epic Athlete Village Event Tent at Beaver Run Resort at 5pm.
    • All junior athletes may pick up race packets on DAY ZERO (Saturday, Aug 8, 2026) from 1pm-7pm, OR on Sunday, August 9 from 3pm-6pm.
    • U23 and Junior riders racing stages 2-4 (their dedicated event) are required to attend a rider briefing at 4pm, Sunday, August 9 at the Epic Athlete Village Event Tent at Beaver Run Resort.

    THE EXPERIENCE

The Breck Epic is a world-class event with a world-class field. What makes this showcase special is that young racers aren’t competing in a silo — they’re racing alongside some of the best mountain bikers in the country, in a shared atmosphere built on mutual respect and inclusion.

Most athletes in the professional ranks understand that young riders need to be nurtured and shown the ropes. That spirit is woven into everything we do here.

For local families in Summit County and also statewide, there’s an added bonus: your kid gets a world-class race experience without the complications and expense of extensive travel planning.

    ON PRICING

We work hard to keep pricing accessible for our younger field — it doesn’t follow our standard tiered pricing structure. That said, this is an expensive event to produce, and we want to be honest about that. Keeping young athletes safe, delivering a fantastic on-course experience, and sending them home with some very full goodie bags all come with a real price tag. We underwrite as much of that as we can and pass along as little of the real cost as possible.

PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS & ASSETS, EVERY EVENING

Athletes will have access to images captured by Epic’s professional content team. While we can’t guarantee that every athlete will be captured every day, when our team DOES get them, it’s professional-grade magic. And theirs to use (with photo and race credit) for personal websites, sponsorship materials, or social channels. Each evening we send out links to Dropbox folders where — against one of cycling’s most beautiful backdrops —  they’ll find some beautiful shots of themselves.

    WHY IT MATTERS

Young racers need big-race exposure to grow. The atmosphere, the production value, the competition — these are the ingredients that shape riders. We want juniors to feel what it’s like to pin on a number at a premier event and come away hungry for more.

This is what community-driven racing looks like. We’re grateful to be building it alongside athletes, families, and clubs who believe, like we do, that cycling is better when more people — especially young people (and their families) — have a seat at the table.

It takes a village to raise good humans. We have the platform (and the industry mileage) to lend a hand. So we are.

    MEGA EPIC

    MEGA EPIC

All six stages. Back to back to back to back to back to back. Solo.

MEGA EPIC is exactly what it sounds like: every mile of Breck Epic’s six legendary courses, ridden in order, in a single continuous effort. Where the standard Breck Epic spreads those stages across a week, MEGA riders tackle them all starting right before the main field on Wednesday morning (the main field’s Stage 4 start, right downtown) — clock running, no reset.

Deviating slightly from traditional solo, self-supported formats, MEGA takes a step toward FKT-style rules: outside crew support, private lodging or camping, aid station access, and backcountry camping are all permitted. What’s required is that every transfer between stages is done under your own power, and that your GPS track holds up to public scrutiny on TrackLeaders. Breck Epic supplies the Spot tracker. You supply the legs.

Finishers earn a belt buckle, a seat at the 6-day banquet, and a $100 credit in the on-site Epic Store. Plus a MEGA Epic t-shirt. That baby’s ONLY available to MEGA entrants.

The terrain is serious. The consequences of underestimating it are real. MEGA is designed to be an accessible entry point into the self-supported world — but “accessible” is relative when you’re talking about the cumulative vert of six mountain bike stages in the Colorado high country.
