BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. – February 15, 2023 – Organizers of the Breck Epic MTB Stage Race (August 13-18, 2023) are excited to announce Yeti Cycles as the Official Bike of the 6-day backcountry event. Yeti’s signature talent for mayhem fit perfectly with Epic’s already over-the-top week. The partnership also creates tangible benefits for Epic’s race field including reduced registration pricing, comprehensive service course support, an enhanced media and content program, and integration with the Epic Enduro and inaugural Women’s Cycling Summit.

FROM YETI CYCLES

At Yeti Cycles, our passion and support of racing goes back nearly 40 years. When the chance to partner with the Breck Epic was presented, it was an easy decision, “ said Garrett Davis, Yeti Cycles Director of Marketing, “ What Mike and the team at Breck Epic have built is a one-of-a-kind, bucket list endurance event. A true Colorado high country classic. We’re excited to support the Breck Epic as the official bike sponsor for 2023 and beyond.”

PARTNERSHIP DETAILS

SERVICE COURSE AND COURSE MARKING SUPPORT
Breck Epic is a challenging week for riders and equipment alike, and Yeti’s provision of dedicated service course bikes will have an immediate benefit for those experiencing mechanical misfortune. Epic’s marking team will ride Yeti models while placing the week’s 4000+ course arrows and confirmation ribbons. Motorized sections will be marked with Yeti’s e-MTB, the 160E.

YETI CYCLES ROOTS PRICING
In nod to Epic’s independent status and its focus on true backcountry riding, Yeti is underwriting an extension of Epic’s early bird pricing. In kinship with riders who live for big days on rowdy trails, Yeti’s Roots pricing knocks $100 every entry from now until March 31st.

EPIC ENDURO
The brand will also headline the Epic Enduro, an Epic sub-event presented by suspension giant FOX that features 20 segments totaling over 25,000 feet of descending. Awards, rider briefings and cold beverages will be enjoyed in the Yeti Cycles Rider Zone within the Epic Expo.

MEDIA TEAM SUPPORT
Yeti’s gift for compelling storytelling complements Epic’s existing content teams, both organizations committed to documenting not just who won, but what happened. To further emphasize this collaboration, an expansion of Epic’s existing media team is underway including the addition of several paid media positions and comped entries for media members wishing to race.

Yeti is also creating a dedicated media workspace for attending journalists. Yeti’s media room boasts high-speed internet access, meals and refreshments, and a cooler stocked with cheap beer. A dedicated espresso and coffee is also provided with the assistance of Epic title partner Orange Seal Cycling.

WOMEN’S CYCLING SUMMIT
Yeti’s substantial investment in women’s initiatives also fits perfectly with the debut of the inaugural Women’s Cycling Summit (WCS). Launching during Epic ’23 and in partnership with pro rider Sonya Looney, the WCS is 5-day industry and consumer-facing event.

Attendees can expect group rides, tech clinics, and social functions along with seminars and panel discussions hosted by the bike and outdoor industry’s most influential women, among them, several visionary women from Yeti’s turquoise tribe.

FROM BRECK EPIC

“Yeti is a crown jewel among Colorado’s outdoor brands and there are 100 reasons to be excited,” said Epic’s Mike McCormack. “Rider-owned and driven, the bikes are incredible. They’ve claimed the top step of mountain biking’s competitive cathedrals again and again. Like Epic, they’re pure Colorado.

Throughout their entire history, they’ve also ignored the adults in the room and stayed true to their own North Star. They do the right thing simply because it’s the right thing. That last bit is especially resonant with us.

Any of those would be reason enough to be excited. But in the final assessment, there’s one thing that truly matters; their support makes Epic better for its riders. We want to send our folks home happy, hurting and a little bit hungover. Their dedication to the mountain biking experience mirrors our own. Their crazy matches our crazy. They’re a turquoise-tinted agent of chaos.”
