Hello again, you magnificent hard-asses.
Fantastic job today. Your energy, spirit and enthusiasm have made what’s normally a pretty amazing week even more amazing-er. Hard to believe we’re almost to Friday already. Normally I’d say something stupid like, “I feel pretty fresh. I think I could go again!”
But I don’t feel pretty fresh. And I’m pretty sure I couldn’t go again right now. Plus I’m almost out of socks. Unless you count the ones in the merch store. In which case I am a rich man. If wealth were measured in hosiery.
I think some of you might feel the same way. About going again. Minus the clothes part of course.
SOME STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WRAPPING UP YOUR WEEK
1. Lots of aid bags still here. Come grab ’em please.
2. We’re auctioning off maps tomorrow at the party and donating proceeds to the Treetop Child Advocacy Center. And yeah. I do have some experience with that. Long time ago. It’s hard to say it in front of a big group. But they deserve your support..
3. Banquet at 6pm here at the Beav on the 3rd floor. Follow the arrows. All riders GET a ticket with their entry. If you need extra for your people, you can purchase on the website.
4. Stage 7 at the Gold Pan Saloon starting at 9:30. See you there. Bring your dancing shoes, some Febreze, and your stunt liver. Let’s shut this fucker down PROPERLY.
5. Jeff Kerkove came across the finish line of the Mega Epic this evening with a time of 34:39:09. Kerkove rode without outside support, which adds another degree of difficulty to an already massive challenge. Hats off to Jeff, to Andrea Dvorak, to Chris Fisher, Nora Fierman, and Chris Joice. They’re all on Wheeler RIGHT NOW. And another tip of the cap to every rider who made the attempt. It was tough going out there.
6. Merch tent is open from 9am-noon on Saturday if you need some last minute goodies.
7. I’ll have pics and buckles at the finish for anyone who needs to skedaddle early tomorrow.
What a week, huh? Amazing all around. Some stuff to be proud of, some stuff to improve upon. Solid C!

Here’s the stuff you need to know about tomorrow:
BRECK EPIC 2025 – STAGE FIVE – THE GOLD DUST TRAIL
DISTANCE: 31.2mi, 51.km
ELEVATION: 3660′, 1116m
START/FINISH: Steven C. West Ice Arena
START TIME: first wave at 8:30am
AID 1 and 2 (same location): 9.9mi and 22.5mi
START LIST: Attached. Also available in Google Sheets
COURSE DEVIATION: Remember, your GPS will chirp at you right out of the start and right before the finish. We made a modest re-route there which won’t affect mileage, but will give you a better experience out of the gate.
BE CAREFUL: you have a few road crossings tomorrow. Many of you are still dicing for podiums. Make sure you look left, look right and then look left. Let’s get you home in one piece.
START TIMES – name not listed? In the wrong wave because of one piece of weirdness or another? Just jump in where you belong. It’s better for everyone that way. You also have our permission to ride with your friends. Let’s have fun out there.
Oh yeah. Ice cold PBR at the top. Let’s stay classy together.
Stage recaps posting in just a bit. Sleep well!
