MEGA EPIC
All of Epic’s six legendary stages, back to back (to back to back to back to back).

MEGA EPIC 2025
- DEPART: Wednesday, Aug 13, 8:25am. Mega riders stage at the front of the start corral for Stage 4 in downtown Breck, then leave a few minutes prior to the main field. After a few short blocks, MEGA riders turn right and head towards Stage 1. The main field turns LEFT.
- TIMING: The clock starts at 8:25 and continues to run.
- ROUTE: Can be found above and will also be provided in 6 pieces.
- FORMAT: Riders must ride all 6 routes from start to finish and in order. There are no rules about how to navigate transfers through town between stages, only that you have to do it under your own power. We’ll designate a start and end point for each individual stage. Once riders have navigated the course between those two points, that stage is considered completed and riders can then head to the next leg/segment/stage.
- MEGA riders are allowed to have support on course, but your GPS file must endure public scrutiny on TrackLeaders.com.
- OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE: yes
- PRIVATE RESUPPLY/PRIVATE LODGING: yes
- CAMPING ON SITE: yes (available for purchase on BikeReg.com)
- USE OF EPIC AID STATIONS: yep
- CAMPING IN THE BACKCOUNTRY OUTSIDE OF CITY LIMITS: da (this means yes)
- TRACKING: Spot trackers will be supplied by Breck Epic. Riders MUST use supplied tracker.
- WHADDAYA GET? Belt buckle (if you finish). Dinner at 6-day banquet. $100 credit in on-site Epic Store
- QUESTIONS? Fire away
- WANNA REGISTER? You beautiful loon
Does is seem like we’re making it hard? Yeah, probably. Maybe. Nope? I dunno. But there are reasons within reasons and mysteries wrapped in enigmas which are then cloaked in riddles. While the route doesn’t leave anyone too terribly far from civilization, make no mistake…the terrain is challenging and the consequences for not bringing the requisite experience are potentially severe.
We also want to be VERY respectful to the self-supported discipline and its dedicated riders, organizers and enthusiasts. There’s a lot of history there. Hopefully Mega Epic adds something to that mix, and as a relatively smaller challenge, also serves as an entry for new riders who use this FKT format as a stepping stone to a larger self-supported effort.
